María Isabel Farinha

PhD student

Institute for Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA-CSIC)

PhD Supervisors: Lluís Gómez (IDAEA-CSIC) and Camille Minuado (UB).

She is a geophysicist with a background in applied geophysics and a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. During her Master’s research, she used Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and in situ environmental data to investigate the effects of drought on high-mountain peatlands in the Catalan Pyrenees.

She is currently pursuing a PhD at IDAEA-CSIC, where her research focuses on integrating multi-source remote sensing and in situ observations to improve understanding of the limnological dynamics of high-mountain lakes under global change. Her research interests include inland-water remote sensing, limnology, ecohydrology, and environmental data analysis.
