As part of ServiCO2, we are developing an autonomous system to monitor greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial and aquatic environments. The prototype combines automated chambers, environmental sensors, solar power and long-range wireless communication to support measurements in remote headwater catchments.
Following laboratory testing, the system was deployed at Fuirosos in the Montnegre coastal range, and at Contraix and Barranc d’Orris in the Pyrenees. These trials assessed sensor performance, communication reliability and autonomous operation under field conditions, guiding further improvements towards long-term monitoring.
